The science: capillary action
Moisture wicking fibers are engineered with microscopic channels. Sweat is pulled outward by capillary action, spread across a larger surface area, and evaporated. Your foot stays dry, your skin stays cool, and friction — the root cause of blisters — drops sharply.
The fabric blend to look for
A performance blend usually pairs polyamide or polyester for wicking and durability, elastane for stretch and recovery, and a small percentage of natural fiber for hand-feel. Pure cotton is the opposite: it absorbs sweat and holds it against the skin.
